Welcome to brenPhotography’s Clickin with Brenda blog: Local Business Spotlight. This feature highlights local businesses. Here you can learn not only about their services, as well as the personalities behind them. I love meeting these business owners and learning more about them while photographing them for updated headshots, family, or glamour portraits.
Today, Joanne Beattie who represents My Doterra Essential Oils is the focus. Essential oils are the concentrated aromatic properties of plants that help our bodies to heal themselves mentally, physically and spiritually. Find out a little about Joanne and her business here:

Tell me a little about your business: Essential oils are the concentrated aromatic properties of plants that help our bodies to heal themselves mentally, physically and spiritually.
How & when did you get started? I started using essential oils a little over a year ago to help with depression. They have helped me immensely and I want to help other people experience better spiritual, mental and physical health.
What is your business best known for? Essential oils provide a proactive and holistic approach to health care; treating the whole person, body, mind and spirit.
What is something interesting about your business that your customers might not know? Essential oils don’t actually heal us; they support the health of our cells and our immune system, helping us fight and ward off colds and flu, help with nausea and constipation, headaches, pain and inflammation and more. Also the olfactory nerve is directly linked to the limbic system, our emotion and mood center, so they can alter our mood and energy.
Advice I wish I had 5 years ago: Use essential oils!
On my day off I love to go for walks in nature, read and spend time with friends.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? I have joined the John Maxwell Team and am working on becoming a John Maxwell Coach.
What is the one thing you wish you knew how to do? I wish I were a better cook.
What is the first job you ever had? Selling shoes.
Why did you need a headshot? To post on my website and social media.
