Welcome to brenPhotography’s Clickin with Brenda blog: Local Business Spotlight. This feature highlights local businesses. Here you can learn about their services as well as the personalities behind them. I love meeting these business owners and learning more about them while photographing them for updated headshots, family, or glamour portraits.
Today, meet licensed psychologist Dr. Christine Marston, who specializes in eating disorders: treating anorexia, bulimia, binging and emotional eating in both adolescence and adulthood. We made Personal Branding photos as well as images of her office space that she is using on her website, and for professional and social media updates.
Read on to find out more about her and visit her website HERE.

Tell me a little about your business: I’m a psychologist who offers therapy services to help people with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions and personal growth of all kinds.
How & when did you get started? Psychology was the subject in school that always held my interest. After no less than 9 years of college and graduate school, I began doing therapy. I’ve been a therapist in many different settings for almost 20 years now.
What is your business best known for? I’m best known in the community for my specialty in treating eating disorders. Given the complexities of eating issues, people need an expert in that area to support their recovery. In addition, I have many clients who see me for therapy to help them with anxiety, depressive symptoms, relationship issues or changes in their career.
What is something interesting about your business that your clients might not know? So many girls and women have a complicated and difficult relationship with food and their bodies. I’d love to help more people develop a healthier relationship with eating, exercising and encourage them to befriend their bodies. I believe that therapy (not diets, cleanses, weight loss programs or harsh exercising) can really help with that.
Advice I wish I had 5 years ago: For me, 5 years ago was a time of transition involving major life changes. Although I had my profession, I was starting over in many areas of my life. I needed to be told that I could count on myself to be OK. Better than OK!
On my day off I love to: Sleep in, jog with my German Shepherd Frank, watch my kids play their sports, catch some rays if possible and have a nice dinner out.
I can’t start my day until: Coffee and perusing through texts, emails and social media.
You’ll never see me without My clients and colleagues will mention that I always wearing high heels to work. I’m not sure how that became a given…I think I need some cute flats!
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? I’m so satisfied with being a psychologist and the way I spend my day that I rarely consider doing anything else. That said, I wouldn’t mind living on a big ranch, adopting a bunch of animals and taking care of them all day!
What is the one thing you wish you knew how to do? I keep thinking that I’ll learn how to play tennis someday…
What is the first job you ever had? Throughout college and graduate school, I was a fitness instructor. It was a great way to develop a positive relationship with exercise, meet new people and make a little money.
Why did you need a headshot? Just this year, I left a group practice to start my own private practice. Along with this, I needed to do my own marketing and wanted some great photos to use in doing so.
How did you feel about your Business Portrait experience with brenPhotography? Having my pictures taken by Brenda was a pleasure. She came to my office and was great at understanding what I was looking for in my photos. She helped me to relax and feel comfortable. Not to mention, her slogan, “shine from the inside” really resonates with the work I do with teens and women.
