Nearly 1 in 3 teenagers are withdrawing from classroom debate because they don’t want to draw attention to the way that they look
6 out of 10 girls choose NOT to do something because they don't think they look good enough- activites that are fundamental to gheir contribution to society.
When it comes to exams- if a girl doesn't feel she is thin enough she will score a lower grade than her peers that are not concerne with this. This is a world wide problem and IT IS TRUE REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH SHE ACTUALLY WEIGHS.
This is where they are getting their inspiration:
LOW body confidence is undermining academic achievement
AND WE DON'T GROW OUT OF IT.
It's time for every one of us to step up and be better role models for the young girls in our lives. Challenge the status quo of how women are seen and talked about in our own circles.
How can you helping to create a world where kids are free to be the best version of themselves, judged on what they do and not how they look?
Start by treating yourself with the respect you deserve so you can serve as a role model for today's youth.
